Frequently asked questions
If your question is not answered here, ask us before you pay rather than after.
Who can apply?
International medical graduates, and final-year medical students who can provide official verification of enrollment. You must be able to supply a valid passport, medical school documentation and the health documentation the facility requires, and to be present in Montgomery, Alabama, for the full rotation block at your own cost.
What kind of clinical experience is this?
A supervised inpatient Inpatient Internal Medicine / Hospital Medicine rotation at a participating Montgomery-area facility, following the schedule of a practicing hospital physician. The scope of clinical activity is set by the supervising physician and the facility, and is confirmed to you in writing before the rotation begins.
Will this rotation be recognised by residency programs?
We make no claim that it will. Recognition of clinical experience varies considerably between residency programs, and no one outside a program can promise how that program will weigh it. What we can tell you is exactly what the experience is, in writing, so you can present it accurately. Any program that requires experience within an affiliated or accredited pathway should be asked directly before you apply.
How much is the application fee, and is it refundable?
The application fee is $100.00 per application and it is non-refundable. It pays for the review and verification of your application, which happens whether or not the application is accepted. It is not a deposit, and it is not credited against any other cost.
Does applying or paying guarantee a rotation?
Submitting an application and paying the application fee does not guarantee acceptance, placement, a sponsoring physician, or specific rotation dates. Placement is determined after application review, based on availability, sponsoring physician availability, institutional requirements, and requested dates.
Can I choose my own rotation dates?
You rank three preferred date ranges. They are preferences, not bookings, and submitting them reserves nothing. Dates are confirmed only in a written acceptance letter and depend on when a supervising physician is available. An offer may be for your second or third choice.
What documents will I need to upload?
A CV, the photo page of a valid passport, and either your medical school diploma or an official enrollment verification letter. Health and immunization documentation is required before any clinical activity. USMLE and ECFMG documentation is optional and should be included if you have it. The exact list is shown inside the application and can change, so check it there rather than relying on this page.
Do you provide visa sponsorship or immigration advice?
No. We do not sponsor visas, we do not provide immigration advice, and we do not provide immigration services of any kind. Entry to the United States, and any visa you may need, is entirely your own responsibility, and a rotation offer is not a guarantee that a visa will be granted.
Is housing included?
No. Housing is a separate arrangement and is not included in the application fee or in any rotation offer. Availability, pricing, booking, cancellation, and terms are handled independently of rotation acceptance. See the housing page for the reference address.
